We recently had the pleasure of creating a set of bed visualizations in interiors for a regular client. The project included modern settings with classic accents as well as very bright, minimalist spaces, all stylistically matched to the bed models. In this article, we explain how we deliver projects like these and what is needed to create effective furniture visualizations that attract attention and build brand value.
Where do we begin with furniture visualizations?
We begin our collaboration by understanding the products' character : in this case, beds with different styles and purposes. We analyse the forms, colours, proportions and construction details worth emphasising. We then ask the client for reference materials: photos, technical drawings, dimensions and, if possible, ready CAD or 3D models.
If the client has no models, we create them from scratch in our studio. Precise modelling is essential at this stage: every detail counts, from changes in the form to material textures. Furniture modelling is a separate service; read more on the page: furniture visualizations.
Creating interior settings
Once the bed model is ready, we design its surroundings. For this project, we prepared two groups of settings:
modern interiors with classic elements, such as decorative mouldings, wooden floors and warm lighting,
very bright, spacious, modern settings with plenty of daylight.
We design every interior to emphasise the products' advantageswithout distracting from them. We use realistic camera and lighting setups to simulate the conditions of a professional photo shoot.
Textures, lighting and rendering
Material selection plays a huge role. Beds often have upholstered headboards, quilting and stitchingthat must look natural both close up and in wider views. We create realistic material textures, reproducing reflections, fabric sheen and a sense of softness.
We prepare separate lighting for each view, often using techniques also applied in product visualizations, creating so-called packshots within interior settings. The render is therefore attractive and as clear as possible for the viewer.
What is needed to create bed visualizations?
For a similar project, we need the client to supply:
basic furniture dimensions or a 3D model,
finishing information, including materials, colours and fabric type,
guidelines on the interior style,
example reference views, if available.
We also often agree with the client what emotions the setting should evoke : whether the bed should look luxurious, homely, modern or part of a hotel room. All of this affects the final result and how the product is presented.
If you are also interested in other presentation formats, explore our services for building visualizations or CGI animations, which work very well for dynamic interior presentation.
